I have inherited a large database in Word that I need to
export to an Outlook Contacts format. Can anybody give me
a quicker way than cutting & pasting each invidual entry?
I'd take days!
Each contact is in a Word Table consisting
-Surname, First Name
-Position
-Name of Firm
-Address Line 1
-Address Line 2
-City
-County
-Postcode (in some cases more than one of these last 3 are
on one line)
-Country
-Tel
-Fax
-Email
-Website

Most grateful if anybody can help save me some hours.

Do you have Excel? The easiest way would be to drop the table into Excel,
save it as an .xls file, then use File - Import & Export from Outlook...
using Map Custom Fields (one of the steps in the Import Wizard) to make sure
your field names match up with Outlook fields.

If you don't have Excel, you might try converting the table into text
(separated by tab or some other distinctive character), use Find/Replace to
insert quotes around each field, and commas between each field within each
record. Then do File - Save As - Text file. Then use File - Import & Export
from within Outlook to import that file as a Comma Separated Values file.
