Can i export data from a repeating section into Excel?

I've built a data-collection form with InfoPath. However, only the first
entry of my repeating table is exported to an Excel spreadsheet. Can the
multiple entries from a repeating section or table be exported to Excel?

Hi,

Yes - you should be able to export data from a repeating section or
repeating table to Excel.

I just created a test sample as follows:

- Created an InfoPath solution based on the Access Northwind sample database
- Added the Customers and Orders tables
- Setup the Customers data as a Repeating Section and the Orders data as a
Repeating Table
- Opened the form, executed a query for a specific Customer ID
- From the File menu chose Export To and then selected Excel
- Chose the option "Form fields and this table or list" and then selected
the Orders table
- Completed the balance of the Wizard

This resulted in all orders being exported along with the customer data for
each order.

I hope this helps!

Hi Jhon,

Did you follow the steps I completed using the Northwind sample database or
your own data?

If you did not complete the steps using Northwind please do so we can make
sure this does or does not work with sample data.

Hi Jhon,

Thank you for testing the sample steps so we know this is not an issue with
InfoPath per sé. So the question now becomes is what is different about how
your data is setup such that the export option is not available for you?
Can you describe, in detail, how your form is designed?

In regard to your 2nd question - this is expected behavior. When you are
exporting data, the export will only take into consideration that data
which is being stored in the underlying data source as part of the "Main"
data source.
