Not really since they all use the same file format - with the
exception of Word 2007 which uses a .docx or .docm file extension
although documents created in Word 2007 can be saved in the Word 97 -
2003 file format.
You might be able to determine some information by opening the
document in Word 2003 and going to Tools/Options/Compatibility and
take a look at the recommended options. If you see Word 2002 then
there's a good chance it was created in Word 2002.
Note this is method isn't absolute. Changing the compatibility options
isn't that uncommon since they control various behaviors in Word.
Also, if a template created in an older version was used in a later
version of Word, or if the compatibility option in the template were
changed, then the Compatibility Options will reflect those used in the
template.
