Can I force Palette to always start on the far right of my screen?

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel For a variety of reasons, I close the Formatting Palette fairly often. When I open it again, it always shows up in the same place ... about 2/3 of the way across my screen. I then drag it to the right where I want it to be.

Is there any way to reset the default location?

The Toolbox (which contains the Formatting Palette) should return to the
last position when re-displayed... That _is_ the way to set its 'default'
location. Before anything else, though, confirm that both Office & OS X are
fully updated & that disk permissions have been repaired. Then restart your
Mac & see if there's any difference. If not...

Try running Word in a different User Account to see if the behavior occurs
there. If not your current account may have a corrupt/damaged preferences
file. Also try starting Word while holding the Shift key to see if that
makes any different.

Reply with your results of each of those diagnostic procedures. If necessary
there are some corrective measures depending o those results.

Well, it seems to be working the way it should now, and that was before I did any of the things that you suggested. The only thing that I can think of is that perhaps I hadn't restarted since the last time I had an external monitor attached, and I know that external monitors often do strange things to the size and location of windows.
