Can I force the caret into a ribbon editBox?

When I create 2 specific kinds of tags (Windward tags), the ribbon has
an editBox for the tag name - and the tag must have a name. So I want
to force the caret to that editBox so it must be filled in.

So do you mean you want the editbox must be filled before the specific tags
are created?

I think most of softwares choose the detect-and-handle pattern. That is
after an action causes a tag to be created, we try to retrieve the content
of the edit box in the ribbon.Then we detect the retrieved value. If the
value is null or does not match the requirment of the tag name. We stop the
progress and pop up a message box, which tells the end user that he must
fill the editbox of a tag name. These logics are all client and web
applications do for the name checking progress, as I know.
