Can I format Tabs (color/text size?)

S

Stilla

Hi.. I'm creating tabbed data entry form, and pasting pieces of a form I had
created (was too long), into different tabs.

I can't seem to find where I format the background color or even change the
font on the actual tab name...

I searched this site and found a related answer (below). I unchecked that
option as instructed below, restarted Access but still do not see any color
options. Please help if you can!

thanks

You can set the Back Style property of the tab control to Transparent, so
that the color of the detail section of your form shows through.

If you are working in Access 2003 on Windows XP, that won't work unless you
uncheck the box:
Tools | Options | Forms/Reports | Use Windows Themed Controls.

Stilla,
You can change the Font of your tab names. Make sure you select the entire Tab
control, and not one of the individual tab "pages".
When you have the Tab Control slected, it should show the Tab Control name in the
properties box title bar. Not the Pages... just the Tab.
Now... the Tab Control has Font Name, FontSize, etc... properties that you can set up
to suit...

Regarding the background of the Tab Pages, you can only have Normal or Transparent.
Transparent shows the main form color "through" the Tab Page, and every TabPage will be
transparent and show the same form backcolor.
If you really need a color behind your fields on each Tab Page, when done laying out
all your Tab Page fields the way you want then, then "cover" them with a colored rectangle
object of the color and size you want you want, and then "Send To The Back" that rectangle
so it is "behind" your fields.

Thanks Al! That did it... I'm starting to understand the "character" of
Tabs. I have a question about whether I can also have a header, but I'll
post it separately.

thanks so much
