Can i get an apostrophe to print without hitting the space bar

The only way I can get an apostrophe to print is to hit the apostrophe key
and then hit the space bar. It used to print without hitting the spacebar.
How do I fix this.

You have managed to enable an international keyboard layout. Check the
settings in Control Panel | Regional Options | Input Locales.
