Can I get outlook to open files (.exe) without saving first

Can I get outlook to open files (.exe) without saving I put shortcuts
in my tasks to programs I use for those tasks. I unblocked .exe files
via registry but now it makes me save the File to disk first

Shortcuts aren't .exe files so you're not making much sense here.

Either way; don't attach shortcuts but create a text based link instead.
