Can I have someone else activate my Out of Office message?

L

Laudani

I was p[osed with a question from a department head: "Can a supervisor
activate a users Out of Office message?" We would like to be able to do this
when someone calls in sick, the supervisor can activate message.
I do not want to give password aways.

How do I do this?

Aloha Laudani,

Somebody would have to log in as the absent user, or with an account with
rights to their mailbox, to do it. Best way is probably to reset their password
to something the supervisor can use, then after the supervisor has logged
into their account, opened their mailbox, turned on the Out of Office, and
logged off again, check the box for "User must Change Password at next login".

When the user comes back they can get the temp password from you and then
login and change their password back to whatever it's supposed to be.

Bit of a hassle, I know.
