Can I have Word XP and Word 97?

I currenlty have Word XP on my pc. Can I add Word 97 without messing things up? The reason I want to add 97 is because I have job testing on 97 and I'd like to practice on 97

You will have to do a Custom install of Word97 so that it goes into a
different folder. You will not be able to run both versions simultaneously
and switching from one to the other will probably involve an installation
dialog appearing on the screen while the registry settings are updated for
the version that you are starting.

I can't really believe however that you should need to do this for the
purpose that you mention. Any practice that you do on XP should be of
benefit when you do a test on 97.

The easiest way to do this without the two interacting is to set up a second
instance of Windows XP on a separate partition/disc in a dual boot
configuration and install Word 97 in that. There are also Virtual PC
applications eg Connectix Virtual PC, which allow you to create separate
installations. The advantage is faster switching between the two.
