Can I hide a daily appointment on the calendar?

I have a daily requirment that I always forget, so I have an daily
"appointment" set up so a reminder will come up on the screen.
Unfortunately, this appoinment shows up on every day of my calendar,
cluttering the screen. Can I "hide" the appointment as I only need the
active reminder? Or, is there another way to have an alarm go off on my
screen?

Have you tried creating a daily task instead?

In addition to VInce's suggestion, there are tons of freeware alarm clocks
that can be downloaded from the Internet.
