Can I insert Doc A into Doc B without have A adopt B's styles??Please?

I¹ve got a report that calls for two questionnaires in the appendix.

When I insert the questionnaire, it adopts the styles of the report and all
of the formatting changes, making itthe questionnaire unreadable.

What can I do about this? I¹ve thought of turning them into PDFs before
inserting, but that¹s messy.

Help, please?

You could rename the styles in the questionnaire, which is made relatively
straightforward by using the Organizer (Tools | Macros> Organizer, I think)
but degree of hassle depends on number of styles, obviously. Then it should
hold its own formatting, not finding a style definition in the new location.

Totally guessing here:
Doesn't Word 2004 have Smart Tags? Is there a Paste Options button? That
might help, if available. For more info on Paste Options in WinWord:

But I really have no clue whether that is an option in Word 2004, nor do I
remember what version you are using. If it's there, there should be an
option somewhere in the prefs menu to turn it on.

Sorry I left out the version. It's 2004. A client had requested it, and I
said we would handle it by printing everrything as a PDF. That's the easiest
and best way.

You're probably right that I could have pasted it in keeping its formatting.
I'll try it next time. I decided the only thing I could do was print the
individual pages as pdf files and insert them individually as graphics.

One nice little touch (which may have been in Word for a long time for all I
know) is that when you are inserting graphics called Guide1, Guide2,
Guide3..., Word assumes you want the next one in sequence by highlighting it
in the file selector dialog.

PITA, but got it done. File is enormous of course.

Thanks!
