Can you run different versions of Word, yes, but
you may need to repair/reinstall Office 2003 after
doing so (i.e. oldest first is the general guideline).

Can you describe the reason you're looking at using
Word 2002(from Office XP) vs 2003? In general the file format and
feature set is the same.
