can I install and run windows 2000 prof on system running xp?

I have bought an IBM thinkpad T40 which has win xp as operating system. Will
I be able to instal and run office 2000 professional? If so, are there any
pitfalls?

As pe this message I tried to to install my office 2000 onto my XP. I got an error message about installation packages. Is there a download I need to do this, and how will I know which I need? Thanks

That would depend on the wording of the error message, I suggest getting
