Can I install my copy of Access on 2 computers? My Desktop & myLaptop ?

Some software allows more than one installation... maybe one for your
regular desktop and another for your laptop.

Does MS allow this for a single license copy of MS Access?

You'd have to read the End User License Agreement that came with your copy
of Access. Licenses vary depending on version, time, and circumstances.

Well we are upgrading a copy of Access 2000 to Access 2007 (bought but
not opened yet),
so I'm not sure which license to read... and I don't want to open the
2007 not knowing what is allowed as we won't be able to return it once
opened.

We still have the original Access 2000 CD in its original case
(purchashed in 2000 as a standalone product),
but I don't see a printed license agreement.

Does anyone know what the 2000 or the 2007 licenses agreements say
regarding installing the Acess copy on both your desk top and your
laptop?

You'd have to read the End User License Agreement that came with
your copy of Access. Licenses vary depending on version, time, and
circumstances.

But recent versions of Office (at least 2003 and 2007) have
defaulted to 2 installs, desktop and laptop (if both belong to the
licensee of Office).

Note that the pricing for Office 2010 adds a new type that is
cheaper but permits only a single installation. The result is that
per installation, it's more expensive (and, in my opinion), should
be avoided.

Regardless of the answer, one complication will be that the Upgrade edition
usually requires that the qualifying product be installed on the machine
where the new product is being installed.

Does the upgrade edition require tha the old ver of Access actually be
installed?

Most upgrades I've seen let you start to install then... if they don't
find the old ver installed... they let you insert the old CD for
verfication that you actually have the old ver and therefore are
authorized to use the upgrade.
