Do I have to upgrade to WM5?
I'd rather not, I hear its not entirely compatible.

For a SmartPhone, it is Win2003 SE or WM5.

Believe the answer to that is no, it needs WM5, but I am not sure of
that.
You could just give it a try. AS will tell you if it isn't compatible.
As far as upgrading your Axim...don't. Been down that road and anything
but
pleased. While the X51 seems to be a decent product, upgrading a 50 to
WM5
just has too many issues. Mine is back to 2003SE.
On the bright side, sort of, OneNote Mobile isn't all it's cracked up to
be,
IMHO. It's not like you get your whole OneNote Binder portable. You get
one
divider (down left side) that syncs pages (notes) with the PPC. On a PPC
you
can't use ink, i.e. draw pictures. You can type in the SIP, and you can
input recordings and pictures. You need to remember that that OneNote
Mobile was developed with Smartphones in mind (no touch screen). Some
folks
seem to love it, but I am a bit underwhelmed.
