Can I make a Hot Keys

I want to be able to type oxygen as O2 but make the 2 subscript. I don't
want to have to go to the font all the time. Can I auto correct it?

Ctrl+= will give you the keyboard shortcut for subscript. This is probably
the fastest way. Another way is to keep the task pane open to fonts
(Ctrl-D), highlight and click on subscript. Either way would depend on touch
typist preference or feeling comfortable with pen or mouse.
