Can I "Mark my comments" in Entourage 2004?

Hello all,

In Outlook for windows, there's an option called "Mark my comments".
This will basically auto-insert your name or whatever text you like
when replying and making comments to an email.

Is there any way to do this in Entourage? I've been searching and
haven't had any luck.

Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Outlook, so I don't really understand what
this feature does. Could you explain in more detail, or maybe even post a
screenshot? At first sight, Entourage does not have such a feature; I
suppose you could use AppleScript, or maybe even AutoCorrect
(Tools>AutoCorrect), but these suggestions are based on my incomplete
understanding of the Outlook feature.

Please use good etiquette with Email. Email content should be
universally accessible. Not all computers are up to date or even
running the same Email client, therefore in general, email should not
contain non-standard extensions.

Please read and digest:

Thankfully, there's no way to do that in Entourage that I know of.

AutoCorrect can be used like a shortcut text, but you might want to look at
other third party applications that insert text.

I use a combo of things to insert messages.

For some of the most common, I use a shortcut to insert. This is
accomplished with a third party applications like Keyboard Maestro,
TypeIt4Me, SpellCatcherX, QuicKeys X. There only so many mnemonics that I
can remember so I use Typist that pops up a list of entries to select from
then inserts into a message. If anyone remembers OneClick in OS9...it had an
Insert Text feature that I still miss today. <sigh>

SpellCatcherX <http://www.spellcatcher.com/>
Typinator <http://www.ergonis.com/products/typinator/>
Typist <http://www.selznick.com/products/typist/index.htm> this one is a
bit ancient but it still works
TypeIt4Me <http://www.users.dircon.co.uk/~r-ettore/>
Keyboard Maestro <http://www.keyboardmaestro.com/main/>
QuicKeys <http://www.cesoft.com/products/qkx.html>
CopyPaste + yType <http://www.scriptsoftware.com/copypaste/>

Hope this helps. (inserted with typing shortcut hh)

All URLs were inserted using a shortcut for a script to "Insert URL". See

for Insert URLs.
