Can I merge 2 different projects in one?

Hi, MVPs,

We have saved and published 2 different projects on Project server 2007.
Since the scope change, we are going to merge these 2 projects into 1. My
questions are:
- can I merge these 2 projects into one?
- 60% percent of tasks of these 2 projects are the same name but different
progress, will they be overwrited? Which progress will be applied?

Thanks in advance,

JJin

Hello JJin,

Yes, you can :
Create a blank new project.
In the menu, select : Insert / Project...
select the 1st project then do the same thing for the second project
the rows numbers are discontinuous.
Double click the summary row of a project (with the green icon in the
Indicators column)
In the Advanced tab, uncheck the box : Link to project.
After that, you will have to delete the 2 elementary projects on the server
: Server Settings / Delete Enterprise Objects ...

NB : Project doesn't care about the task names in this feature.

Hope this helps,

Gérard Ducouret
