Can I network Contacts to one another?

I have created a simple database of contacts in thematic industry areas (e.g.
Alternative Energy) and events they are registered to attend.

I would like to find a way that this can be adapted to increase the
networking potencial between contacts by linking contacts to one another so
that business can network more efficiantly and increase knowledge/technology
transefer.

i.e. Joe Bloggs in Marketing is already netwoked to John Smith in
construction and Jane Wang in Retail but dosent know Steve Brown in Transport
so it would be useful to introduce them.

How can I add a list of existing contacts to each contacts details, that can
be clicked on to show the contact's contact details?
