Can I open excel attachments when I only hav e Microsoft works

I have microsoft works and have been sent an excel spreadsheet via email. It
won't let me open it saying that I need to go to the control panel and create
an association folder. I put in xls as that was not on the list. It still
won't open. What can I do.

If you have Windows 2000 or Windows XP, then you can download and
install the free Excel 2003 Viewer from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...F4-996C-4569-B547-75EDBD03AAF0&displaylang=en
.. The viewer allows you to open and print Excel files, but you
cannot modify them.
