We are using OWA for resource booking in a K12 school. We have two big
problems:
a) The calendar views in OWA only display 'times' - they cant show
'periods'. Most students and teachers work in periods.....ie Maths is period
3 today, not maths is from 10:17 - 11:34 !! I dont know of any way to
modify the display of the calendar to display periods down the side in a
daily view without *serious* coding...unless you know otherwise? (Has anyone
got a neat third party app/tool/idea out there that would do this?)
b) Everyone looks at the resource calendars via the web....but then they
have to open OL2003 to make a booking. Why? Because we have created a custom
form in OL for resource bookings that takes away most of the redundant
options and makes it *really* simple to book in periods. So far this seems
too hard in OWA (come on M$ get your act together and get some decent
resources out for designing web forms for OL/Ex2003).
I know that I can call the OL objects in the URL......like this:
https://mail.domain/exchange/user/calendar/?cmd=New
but is there any way to pre-load the name of the resource into the
'resources' window through the URL? It's one less thing for the users to
stuff up
Finally, is there any way to take the 'standard' appointment form provided
by M$ and modify it? If so, how? We mainly want to take stuff off, and
pre-select other things by passing parameters through the URL. Is this
possible?
Any ideas anyone.
