Can I read my past outlook messages if I no longer have access to the server?

HI,
Perhaps this is a silly question......but, I graduated from school 6
months ago and am wondering if my emails that were sent to my school
email address which I saved in outlook are still available for me to
view on my computer. I contacted my former schools computer consulting
center and they told me that I no longer have access to those emails
because the account was closed. But......it seems to me that they must
be somewhere on my computer?!?!? I just don't want those computer
folks to be right!! Thanks!

You don't tell us anything...

If that school account was a POP/SMTP account, then you will have
downloaded all your mail into a PST file. Just open your PST file and
you will have all your incoming and outgoing messages ready.

Now if that was an IMAP account, then all your messages are probably
permanently gone. What version of Outlook do you have?

If it was a POP3 account you would have downloaded the emails into Outlook
(into its PST file on your computer) so you would have access without
connecting to the ISP server. Sounds like you may need to repair the PST
file - refer to www.slipstick.com for assistance with this.
