Can I receive updates from tasks I assign to the 4th person down?

In Outlook 2002, you can send an assigned task to someone, they accept. That
manager will assign it to supervisors, then workers. Can I receive updates
from the workers even though I was the originator of the task, or is this a
newer feature in 2003, 2007?
