Can I recover lost text when Word has shut down on its own?

I typed text into my Word document (the Auto-Backup is set to every ten
minutes). I went away to look several things up and when I came back Word
gave a quick error message, closed, and my text was gone. I cannot seem to
find it on the computer. Is there any way to recover this?

If Word does not present a recovered document the next time you start it,
then the chances of your being able to locate it and open it on your own are
slim.
