Can I Restrict TIP to Numbers?

You mention the floating TIP but do not explicitly
mention XP SP2. Are you running SP2?

The recognition in XP SP2 is much better. I just did a
quick test and purposely tried to write 6/g 0/o 5/s, etc.
and while some of my chickenscratch was initially
recognized as letters, as I added more Ink, the
recognition was changed to a string of numbers. Are you
seeing anything different?

Assuming your handwriting is OK and that you're running
XP SP2, there are some workarounds. You can bring up a
number pad in the XP2 TIP and/or use the On-screen
Keyboard instead of the Writing Pad or Character Pad.
