I've been using 2008 for 10 months now. Everything is going fine. I need space on my hard drive and my 2004 Identities are taking up 40 gigs. Can I toss 'em or does 2008 need to access them for some reason? I never use Office 2004.

Toss them. Sounds like you have a lot of backups. Anytime you rebuild your
database, Entourage makes a copy. Once you are satisfied with the rebuild,
you can delete the backup.
