Can I save the clipart (alone) on another CD?

I have cd #2 from Office 2000 but it doesn't work too well (which may be my
old, filled up, tired pc) When I use it to insert clip art it sometimes
doesn't work. Just spins around and never does it. I can usually open it
otherwise (using OPEN or EXPLORE for the CD-ROM)

I once was told (here) how to install the clipart on my computer, which I
would do, if I have more space. And will when I get a newer computer.

I just opened it (EXPLORE) and saw the files on it, one of them must have
the clipart. If I can install the clip art onto my hardrive, seems like I
could install it onto another CD. Maybe even send it to my harddrive and
then burn it onto a separate CD and delete it from my computer?

My point, I don't need to install anything else from cd #2 at this point.
If I had a CD with just the clip art on it, could I put that in when it asks
for the cd #2, to insert a clip art picture?

I just don't see anything in the files that says clip art. Since
I don't have a RW CD (and never figured out how to use them) I probably
couldn't point it from one CD onto the other one to save as. And, once I
install the clip art on my hardrive (even temp) it would be installed and
not available like on a CD?

Not sure this would work, it might be set up on the original cd to be
found (when clicked on in the program (Publisher or Word), and only work
that way or installed on the hardrive.

I'm not even sure if this is doable. The idea would be to have JUST the
clip art on a separate CD to pop in when I need it.I might open better
(faster) than having the entire cd, with everything else on it, be read.

Even if this might be called copying the files, I think I'm allowed to
have a copy as a backup. But, maybe not just one file from it?

This is how I learn

You can't install from one CD to another, due to the way the Installer
works.

If I were you, I would try making a copy of the entire CD (a simple straight
copy using a CD Copy tool) - if there are any problems with the data on the
original CD, this should at least make it so the problems are reported
instantly rather than waiting for the CD drive to time out.

I do have a copy of it (I had an old computer in another room at one
time I was doing tutorials with). Right now I only have one computer. I
think it's a combination of the old cd (it's 2000) and my old PC (LOL) I've
cleaned the cds and drive (have a cleaner cd) which seems to help.

One time (recently) I tried to insert clip art into Publisher from the
cd it said that function wasn't installed (though it had worked) so I tried
to repair or reinstall Pub from it and it wouldn't (timed out). But, it
didn't mess up the one I had in already. After that I tried it and the clip
art worked from the cd. So, I have hopes. I don't use clip art a lot, but
was practicing printing note cards and wanted to see how the clip art
(colors) printed on it.

I'm in the process of working on getting a new better one (end of the
month maybe) . Trying to do things without having what I'm using work (good)
is frustrating.

On this same note (just thought of it) can I use clip art on
notecards- and then sell them? I asked this once before and think the
answer was yes, maybe if it was included in a publication and not like
putting them on something and selling them as "clip art".

The clip art seems to print out briighter and clearer (on card stock)
than photos. Though I'm still experimenting with this, making the photos
lighter, etc.

One I did (to try) was putting blue snowflakes on the front of a card and
writing "Let it Snow" on top of it.

I guess they wouldn't give clip art to add to publications if it wasn't
okay to use it.

I love this group and Publisher and printing, etc. Only problem I've
found is I come here and don't get anything else (in my life) done for
hours.

The ideal would be to find something I can do with this that makes
money (income) at the same time. I could hire someone else who likes to do
housework (LOL)
