Well if you can live with MS Project 98, but I must say
that there has happened a lot since then. I would
recommend 2000 upwards!!!

Amen to that! Material resource tracking, task exception calendars, and
task deadlines are just three of the features added at Project 2000 that I
consider mission critical and they alone justified the cost of the upgrade.
