Can I setup multiple "Resource Name" fields?

Can I setup multiple "Resource Name" fields that lookup the same resources
pool?

I am new to Project 2007. I have a resource pool that I use from my outlook
contacts' list. It works well with the standard resource name field.

I want to create a RASCI (Resposible, Approval, Support, Consult, Inform)
matrix in my project plan and I would like multiple "resource name" fields. I
tried to add it and then rename it but it didn't work because when I fill in
one of them all the others are filled in with the same value (they don't work
indepent from each other). Then I created a custom field but was unable to
make this custom field to look up to the "table or list" the standard
"resource name" field looks up.

Mahmoud,
I don't see anything in your post that relates to development issues so
this question should have been posted in the regular newsgroup,
micsoroft.public.project. Nonetheless, the simple answer to your
question is "no".

Most of what you describe in your RASCI nomenclature are really tasks.
Only the first (i.e. responsible) is a resource. Approving something is
in fact a task, albeit probably a very short term task. Support is also
a task. Consult is to vague a term to make a call as to what category it
might fall into. It could be a resource assigned with all other
resources necessary to accomplish a task or it might be a contract
consultant as a separate support task. Inform is neither resource nor
task, at least as far as I can tell. It sounds like bureaucratic
overhead to me.

What I suggest is this. Separate out the true tasks from the performers
and then lay out the plan accordingly. Use the available Resource Names
field to assign resources as appropriate to tasks.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but hope this helps.
