Can I stop Outlook from creating contact and calendar folders?

Outlook 2007 has created undeletable copies of "outlook calendar" and
"outlook contact" folders in all of my document folders. If I delete one, it
immediately reappears.

You mean in Explorer? Let me guess; you've got a new Dell machine? Uninstall
the software called "OutlookAddin." It is made by Cyberlink for Dell and it
is known to cause a lot more issues then just this. It causes a lot of
performance overhead as well.
