Can I stop Visio changing wall lengths when they snap together?

I am trying to do floor layouts wit Visio but whenever I join two walls
together VIsio automatically changes the length of one wall making my layout
inaccurate. Can someome please tell me if this can be stopped or is VIsio the
wrong program to be using for this?
