Help! My new Outlook 2003 email window always has Formatting Marks enabled,
no matter how many times I try to turn it off in the menu!
When typing a new email, I go into Tools>Options>View and uncheck all the
Formatting Marks options. The formatting marks disappear, and that works
fine for all the emails I type during that session of Outlook. But if I
close Outlook and re-launch it, the formatting marks are back - every time!
They seem to be stuck on by default, and nothing I can do will turn them off
permanently.
If I go back into Tools>Options>View, the Formatting Marks are checked again
- as if I'd never unchecked them! And yes, I am hitting "OK" to close out
the dialogue box.
I am using Word 2003 as my default email editor, so I even tried going into
Word and disabling the Formatting Marks there, but they were already turned
off. Furthermore, this problem never occurs with other Word documents, such
as letters and faxes.
If I absolutely must, I suppose I could change the default email format to
Text, rather than HTML, or stop using Word as my email editor, but either way
I lose some functions that I use frequently.
Any ideas?
