can i use a digital photo for a template?

I was wondering if I could use one of my own digital camera photos as a
template for a backround on my slideshow. Any answers?

If you start with a new blank presentation and then follow the steps Shawn
outlined, does the picture show up with natural colors then?

(There are a few templates that came with PPT 2003 that actually have kind
of a color overlay on the backgrounds. I think maybe you're working with one
of those.)

Thank you very much. Yes, if i start over, it comes in right.

:

Click Format > Background.
Click on the dropdown menu, select Fill Effects.
Select Picture tab. Click on "Select Picture" button.
Look for the photo you want to insert. Ok your way out.
Click Apply to insert it as a background onto the current slide, and
Apply
All to insert it as a background on all slides.
