I have just received a MS office enterprise 2007 edition on DVD ROM and want
to load it onto my recently 'rebrained' desktop. The desk top is about 8
years old and only has a CD drive. During 'rebraining' the programs clogging
the memory were removed and placed onto an external drive but unfortunately
the operating systems were not retreived - thus I had to buy another set
because my discs were lost??
The PC runs OK and I can see all my word docs, xls, PP etc but cannot create
new, change etc.
When the new DVD ROM disc is inserted, there is no auto boot up.
I checked the CD drive via My Computer page and the drive shows nothing when
viewed.
Can I assume that DVD is incompatable with CD?
Are external USB ported DVD drives available that would allow me to load
this program? Do they work OK or would this be too slow through the USB1
ports on this PC?
I have an 80GB Acer Aspire PC with virtually nothing in memory at the moment.
Its a slug but thats what I can afford!
