can I use MS Outlook 2003 to export public folders

I just installed a new Server with Exchange 2003, I exported each users mail
& back in fine (to their mailboxes). It was suggested instead of using
Exmerge. Can I do the same with the Public Folders?

Yes, It was suggested to use Outlook 2003 to export to a PST & then import
them back after logging on to the new Exchange server (MS Board like this).
That worked fine for their mailboxes. "pfmigrate" seems to only work if both
the old server & new server were both running to migrate. I want to "copy" or
"export" public folders, mostly contacts, to the new public folders on the
new server. Can I export out of Outlook from a workstation, then import back
to "Public folders" so that after restarting everyone will now see that info?

So you have a public folder in your old exchange server that includes a list
of customer contacts (for example), and you want to get that list into the
new exchange server without using any migration tools?

You should be able to export the public folder to a PST. I tried that and it
works.

Then import the PST file you created into the public folders of the new
exchange server. The best way to do this is to create an empty folder first,
select it, then use the import function and tell it to import to the current
folder.

Let us know how this goes.

It's always a bette idea to copy rather than export and import.
