can i use my Office2003 security key for Office2007?

I already have a licensed copy of Office 2003 on my current PC, which I have
replaced with a new one. The only problem is that the new PC arrived
pre-installed with a 60-day trial version of Office 2007, which has now
de-activated... Can I use my security key from 2003 to activate it or can I
upgrade somewhere?

If your Office 2003 is Retail (and not OEM) then you can transfer your 2003
to the new computer.
However, you must uninstall both the 2007 Trial and the Activation
assistant, and reboot before installing.
If you want to use Office 2007, you would still be better buying a
discounted copy at Amazon or NewEgg (or similar) as you get an installation
DVD, rather than buying a licence to convert the trial to a full version.

No you cannot use the 2003 key to activate Office 2007 Trial or Retail versions .
The only way to Upgrade is to purchase an Office 2007 Upgrade version

Before installing any flavor of Office on your new computer you will need to
uninstall the Trial and the Activation Assistant for your installation to be
successful

Your key won't work. you may be able to buy an upgrade license that's
cheaper than a full license for 2007, since you already legally own 2003.

If not, just uninstall 2007 then install 2003 with yoru license key.
