can I use OneNote on desktop with touch screen monitor?

I'm new to OneNote (using the trial version and really like it) and I'd
like to just buy a touch screen monitor and be able to write notes that
way when it's more appropriate than using the mouse and keyboard. Is
this possible? I've searched this group and the web in general and
can't find a definitive answer.

Thanks in advance

IMO a *toch-screen* would not be a good idea.
Apart from the lack of the necessary handwriting support (for
TabletPCs there is a special supplement of Windows) it would not
really work in an ergonomical way. How would you write on a monitor in
an upright position?
What might work would be something the Wacom digititer tablets or a
special digitizer monitor (Wacom offers this too).

I just looked up the Wacom's Cintiq 21UX monitor and its around 2400.00
(ouch!) I might as well save up for a tablet pc...

thanks for the info

Yes, you might indeed be better off with a TabletPC.
Tablets work great with OneNote. And a very fine feature of ON is the
automatic synchronization so that one can write on the tablet and
things on the desktop computer will be updated within seconds.

The Cintiq is a really great monitor but it's rather soemthing for
graphic design profesionals that for average computer users ...

Take a look at the new Samsung Q1. When I went to look at it at Best Buy,
they kept it locked up off floor. They claimed it was to prevent theft, but
couldn't explain why iPods were on display.

The last time I experienced 'hidden display' was when Nokia kept the 770
hidden in a drawer in their Dallas Kiosk. We know what a great success that
brick was.

IMO the screen is just too small for making *productive* use of ON
with it.
And the UMPCS only have a *touch-screen*, no digitizer.
