Can I use resume templates without downloading

I just bought Office 2007. I used to use 2003 (at work) and could create
resumes using templates without downloading or even connecting to the
internet. I was happy, Word simply had templates ready to use. Now, I am so
frustrated! I do not want to install "ActiveX" in order to make a resume. I
don't want to install anything on my already slow computer! I shouldn't have
to connect to the internet in order to do something that was a basic function
on the old version of Word. Please Help!

If you have the 2003 template you can use that - otherwise lots of things
have been changed in Office 2007. It's called progress
Why not create your own? A resume is after all only a list of relevant
skills. In the case of Word templates, it's a list in a table.

Another advantage to creating your own template for a resume is that your
resume will not look like everyone else's resume. Having just been job
hunting this year, I can tell you that you need to do just about anything
you can to stand out from everyone else who wants that same job. (Don't use
neon colored paper or squirrely fonts)!!

OTOH, if you use a layout similar to everyone else's, you make the critical
information easier to find. Think about it: how would you like it if, every
time you went to look up a phone number, the design of the phone book had
been changed? Or, to cut closer to the bone, the layout of the MSKB Web
pages. <g>

Excellent point. Having your data in the same order fine but I can look at a
resume and tell who never bothered to change the template at all.
