Can I view an older Excel file with Macros in Office 2008???

Hi, all -- So I use this mega-financial planning spreadsheet every
other day. It was created in an older Excel version with -- yes --
Virtual Basic macros.

So of course when I open my new (better!) Excel with Office for Mac
2008, it won't load the macros. I have tried all the instructions of
saving the file with different versions/exetensions, but no luck.

Is there ANY way I can use this file created with the VB Macros while
in Office '08? Or do I need to go back to this company and tell them
they need to re-build the whole thing using Apple Script?

thanks for any help!

Well, you ought to be able to open the file and see the data. The macros
just will not work. I don't know what you mean by "use" the file. If you
just want to view it, it ought to appear and recalculate fine. If you expect
some of the "mega-financial planning" functions to work, you are out of
luck. It is highly unlikely that they will rebuild the model in AppleScript,
but I guess there is no harm in asking
