Can I write protect a block of text?

I use OneNote to write periodic status reports. Once I am done with a report,
I want to keep it around for later reference (cut&paste, etc.). But I don't
want to accidentally change that text.

Password protection doesn't work here because I want the text to always
remain visible. Something like a format > font > text effect > write-only...

I guess you could screen clip the text, then paste it back in as an image
(even set it to the background if you like) that way you won't be able to
easily change it.

Otherwise no, not block protection.

Thanks for the definitive answer. Unfortunately, screen images negate the
advantages of searching. Hopefully, Microsoft would consider this for a
future release.

Actually they do - images like that will be OCRd in the next release of
OneNote so you'll be able to text search them.

But still no block protect. :)
