Can "inbox" and "calendar" views be combined?

My Franklin software was out of date so I uninstalled it. Now I miss the
"Today" view that showed my inbox and calendar (+ tasks if I wanted it) on
the same page. I believe Franklin achieved this through Visual Basic.

It seems so logical that I wonder if there isn't a way to set up a view that
mixes the two folders but I can't find a way to do it without learning Visual
Basic.

Can anyone give me a walk-through or link.
