Can Lotus Symphony files be converted to Word and Excel?

How can I convert files originally saved in Lotus Symphony to either Word or
Excel?

that's a very long time ago! If you still have Symphony running, try to
see what file save/as options are available that are a common
denominator with Symphony. Another idea is to search on Google for some
products. Are you sure the media (floppy disks?) are still readable?
