Can the mac version of powerpoint play .WMV video / movie files?

I would say "usually no", but I suspect that if you install the Flip4Mac
WMV codecs for QuickTime, it should (I've never tested it myself).
Fli4Mac doesn't support all WMV codecs but since they provide a
QuickTime codec and since PPT relies on QT for displaying media, it
*should* work. You can always give it a try with the demo version.
