I would like to see Microsoft create a display in Outlook as like the
showcase display on the Firefox web brower. Firefox extension Showcase
displays thumbnails of open Firefox tabs and switches between them easily,
but it also lets you search text across several web pages at once.
Instead of these thumbnails just being web pages, in Outlook they would be
thumbnails of any tab located in the navigation pane. Also they could be
thumbnails of any project the user may be working on at the time; such as new
messeges, a web page, a word document, or a new task. This would allow the
user greater access to what he/she may be working on without worrying about
closing out windows or searching for individual windows on the task bar. I
know Windows conveniently consolidates any related windows together on the
task bar, but why not have them in outlook where I can see them.
It would also be nice to do all my Microsoft work right out of Outlook,
instead of having to search through the start menu and open Excel, Access, or
Word. Tabs (or thumbnails) for all Microsoft applications can be intergrated
within Outlook making it easier to access them.
Just a thought.
