We're looking for an integrated Basic Accounting package along with a strong
Project tracking system. Can MS Project do the job? Is MS Great Plains a
better alternative? We're looking to do light lifting for set up work - i.e.
individual consultant's set up information; client information; summary
information of projects; Chart of Accts; Mapping to Reporting system, etc.

Any ideas?

Hi,

MS Project is a scheduling tool and doesn't handle the information you
stated. For accounting information Great Plains would be better. For larger
installations it integrates well with Project Server if you use that for
managing many schedules.

For VBA posts, please use the public.project.developer group.
For any version of Project use public.project
For any version of Project Server use public. project.server

project tracking system

Thanks,

Hi,

The higher end GP packages do integrate with Proejct Server, however, you
need to be at a high level of project maturity and scheduling to make it at
all worthwhile.
