Can my resources print a project from Web Access view?

Many of my resources have only 2002 Project Server access. Can they print
their project timelines from Web Access?

Mary:

With 2002 version, the best you can do is select data in the data grid, use
the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C, and then paste the data into Excel for
printing. 2003 allows you to print the data grids, but not the Gantt charts.

Mary,

One of the features in Project Server 2003 is the ability to print data
from PWA grids or to export to Excel. This requires version 10 or
above I believe.

However, even in Project Server 2003, this will still not allow your
users to print project timelines in the format of Gantt charts.

Sorry,

Gary,

We've just made the decision to stay with 2002 through this next project
(we're doing a "compressed" schedule of 1 year). However, if purchasing 2003
server licenses means that our team members can print their tasks, we might
consider this purchase. Because we don't currently have 2003, I can't test
the function. So let me restate what I understand you to have said: If we had
2003, my resources could pull up their tasks and print them. They could also
go to My Projects, and print a timeline from the data grid. Is this correct.
As this project will begin in 2 or 3 weeks, this would be a good time to have
the information.

Thanks,
Mary

They can print all the data in any view to which you grant them access, but
not the Gantt chart graphics do not print.

chart and traffic lights are rendered in Excel.

Mary-

There is an excellent tool out there called HPV SOlo or Server. SOlo
installs on the client machkine and Server installes on your project server.
It is way more flexible than the grid or Excel and works very much like
Project Pro but at a fraction of the cost. http://projectviewercentral.com.
We did an exhaustive comparison and this one came out on top of our vendor
comparison. Mainly because it plugs right into your existing project server
database with no extra work of a separate database as in other products.
