Can no longer Hyperlink to Heading in another document

I have 119 chapters/documents.

I have already inserted hundreds of hyperlinks to headings and to bookmarks
from one chapter/document to another.

Today, the Hyperlink "Select place in document" window (from the Bookmark
button) does not list any Headings to choose from (but it still shows
Bookmarks if any).

The Network guys deny changing/installing anything since last week.

This is URGENT as it is my last day at this Client site.

What could have removed this functionality please?
