can not disable auto preview for incoming emails in Outlook

I have done the normal things to get rid of the Auto Preview for incoming
emails, and can get rid of them temporarily, but when we close the program,
it automatically goes back in to the auto preview mode when we re-start
Outlook.
I no longer want the Auto Preview to appear when I receive incoming
messages.
