can not download office 97 on windows xp help!!!

I am trying to setup Office 97 and Excel in my computer. I have Windows XP it
is telling me Hard Disk Search Failed. I have tried to upgrade but nothing
seems to be working. Can anyone help me in layman terms.

It would help if you quoted the error message exactly and
completely. My guess is that the error message does not really
say "hard disk search failed". More likely, the error message
says something about not being able to locate a qualifying
